f�r die Gesellschaft EUROPA NOSTRA in Den Haag im Jahr
2000,
Europa
Nostra hat ein Ziel, die Erhaltung und Pflege der Kulturdenkm�ler in jeder
Hinsicht zu f�rdern, sich f�r einen hohen Qualit�tsstandard in der
Architektur, sowie in der Landschaftsplanung einsetzen, die Nutzung des
sozio-�konomischen Potentials unserer Kulturdenkm�ler anzuregen um daf�r
das Bewusstsein und deren Wert zu st�rken.
Die Ehrenmedaillen und Zusch�sse des Restaurierungsfonds sind vom
Internationalen Burgeninstitut (IBI) eingef�hrt worden. Die Bedeutung der
j�hrlichen Preisausschreiben und der in ihrem Rahmen verliehenen
Auszeichnungen werden heute von der UNESCO und der Europ�ischen Union voll

kopalniami, hutami i elektrowniami.
W mieszka�cach tej krainy drzema�o zawsze co� wi�cej. Sl�zacy
byli wychowani w swoistej kulturze chrze�cija�skiej, w
swoistym przywi�zaniu do tej ziemi swoich praojc�w. W�adali
w dziejach tysi�cletniego istnienia trzema j�zykami,
wychowani w trzech kulturach.Ten swoisty charakter cz�owieka,
a zarazem tej krainy geograficznej w Europie zawdzi�czaj� w
du�ej mierze istniej�cym tu od wiek�w - ma�ym ko�ci�kom
drewnianym porozsiewanych po ca�ym G�rnym Sl�sku w
okolicach miast Opola, Raciborza, Gliwic, Katowic i Bielska.

All over the world, the Upper
Silesian Region, situated centrally in the South of Poland at
the foot of the Beskiden mountains is associated only with its
heavy steel mills, coal-mines and power plants.
But there is more than that. The
inhabitants of Silesia are and always have been very special
people. They have been brought up within a particular
Christian culture and very strongly attached to the land of
their ancestors. During the past thousand years they have been
speaking three languages having been in contact with three
cultures. ...

St. Anna - Wooden Church in
Olesno
The Wooden St Anna Church in Olesno, a relic
of a zero class and precisely its miniature, together with the
model of the Eiffel Tower represented Europe on a World
Exposition of Architectural Art in New York. It is a very
famous pilgrimage Church in Poland.
The Wooden Churches, an 110 sacred monuments
of national interest in Upper Silesian, Poland; are situated
in an area where the natural conditions on wood and natural
treasures were excellent. The pilgrimage church dedicated to
St Anna in Olesno built in1518 together with the complex of 5
chapels (1668), is among the most beautiful in Europe.Old
fresco painting and wooden altars as well as the voices of
congregation singing old religious songs carry us back to the
epoch of our ancestors. ...
